A schematic is not a picture of your board. It records what connects to what, and nothing about where anything sits. Getting that distinction early saves a lot of confusion later.

Draw it the way it reads

Power at the top, ground at the bottom, signals flowing left to right. Nobody enforces this and everybody expects it.

Nets and labels

Two wires with the same label are the same net whether or not a line joins them. Labelling SDA and SCL once beats dragging wires across the sheet, and it makes the netlist readable.

The decoupling capacitor you will forget

Every IC wants a 100 nF capacitor between its power and ground pins, physically close to the chip. Leave it out and the board mostly works, which is worse than failing outright.
